The series premiere of Anne Rice’s Interview with the Vampire on October 2 is a stellar performer on AMC+, AMC and with critics and fans. The premiere of Interview and the return of The Walking Dead drove AMC+ to the most successful two days in its history on Sunday and Monday and highest levels of series viewership and new subscriber acquisition ever. The premiere makes Interview with the Vampire the #1 new drama on ad-supported cable in 2022, giving AMC two of the top three series in that category, along with Dark Winds.
On AMC+, the series premiere now ranks as the #1 new series launch ever, in both viewership and acquisition, tripling the early activity of the previous record-holder in these categories, Dark Winds. Seventy five percent of first streams on AMC+ Sunday were new customers watching The Walking Dead and/or Anne Rice’s Interview with the Vampire premieres. Anne Rice’s Interview with the Vampire also now ranks alongside The Walking Dead and Better Call Saul as one of the top three new or returning series on AMC+ based on its opening weekend performance.
On AMC, 1.2 million viewers watched the premiere of Anne Rice’s Interview with the Vampire, including 493k adults 25-54, in Nielsen live+3 ratings.
