The ABC News special coverage of the 2022 State of the Union address averaged 6.302 million Total Viewers, 1.872 million Adults 25-54 and 1.427 million Adults 18-49, turning in ABC’s largest overall State of the Union audience in 10 years and biggest in Adults 25-54 in 8 years — since 2012 and 2014, respectively.
ABC (9:09-10:09 p.m. EST) had the No. 1 telecast of the State of the Union address among the broadcast networks, leading CBS’ (9:00-10:10 p.m. EST – 4.857 million, 1.082 million and 792,000, respectively), NBC’s (9:09-10:09 p.m. EST – 4.705 million, 1.533 million and 1.182 million, respectively) and Fox (9:00-10:47 p.m. EST – 1.858 million, 654,000 and 510,000, respectively).
The ABC News special coverage of the 2022 State of the Union address stood as Tuesday’s No. 1 telecast in primetime in all of broadcast and cable in Adults 25-54 (1.872 million).
ABC News special coverage of the State of the Union address surged in all key target demos: Total Viewers (+53% – 6.302 million vs. 4.125 million), Adults 25-54 (+71% – 1.872 million vs. 1.092 million) and Adults 18-49 (+85% – 1.427 million vs. 772,000) compared to the Net’s coverage of the most recent State of the Union address (on 2/4/20).
